USE: MOTUL DOT 4 LV (Low Viscosity), is especially recommended for hydraulic brake and clutch circuits in vehicles equipped with ESP (Electronic Stability Program), ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), and ASR (Acceleration Slip Regulation); it has a high boiling point and at the same time demonstrates extraordinary behaviour at low temperatures.
STANDARDS: FMVSS 116 DOT 3 / 116 DOT 4, ISO 4925 (Classes 3, 4 & 6) and SAE J1703 J1704.
PERFORMANCE: Long life brake fluid: MOTUL DOT 4 LV's high dry boiling point (267 °C / 513 °F) is higher than DOT 4 ISO Class 6 (260 °C/500 °F mini) and its wet boiling point* is also higher than DOT 3 (140 °C/284 °F mini) and DOT 4 (155 °C/311 °F min) allows the product to work longer. As is well known, DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 fluids have the property of absorbing moisture from the air, which reduces their boiling point and consequently the active safety of the vehicle. *The wet boiling point is the simulation of the fluid working for a full year. Specially designed for ESP, ABS and ASR: The cold viscosity of MOTUL DOT4 LV (675 mm²/s at -40 °C / -40 °F) is lower than that of a DOT 5.1 (up to 900 mm²/s), that of a conventional DOT 4 (up to 1800 mm²/s), and that of a DOT 3 (up to 1500 mm²/s), allowing excellent fluid circulation at very low temperatures between the microvalves of the anti-lock system to provide better and faster response of the ESP, ABS and ASR systems. It is completely neutral in action compared to the seals used in brake circuits. Anti-corrosion.
RECOMMENDATIONS : Can be mixed with DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 products WITHOUT SILICONE BASE. Do not mix with silicone (DOT 5 which is Silicone based) or mineral based fluids (LHM). Store brake fluid in its original container, tightly closed to prevent moisture absorption. Aggressive chemical product if it comes into contact with hands, paint or varnish. If it comes into contact with skin, rinse thoroughly with water. Change interval: 12 to 24 months according to manufacturers' recommendations.
